Let me be honest with you.  I didn't figure out this whole leadership thing while on the job.  I discovered the power to lead when I felt there was no other choice. On the brink of burnout as a working mother of three, in the demanding world of technology, I took a break from my career in order to catch my breath and gain the freedom to explore, introspect and uncover a better way forward.  I refused to be crushed underneath the avalanche of challenging circumstances, overwhelming responsibilities and soaring expectations, and instead found a way to cut through the dirt and debris to re-emerge as a wiser and stronger leader.

What I gained from this experience is a philosophy of leadership that works.  It made me a bolder and more inspiring leader and gave me the insight to transform my team and others into passionate, creative and resourceful product leaders who seek to fulfill a mission rather than simply perform a job.
